To mark its 50th anniversary, a 4K restoration of Mean Streets approved by director Martin Scorsese takes aim in selected cinemas. Charlie and Johnny are best friends who work in Little Italy, predominantly on the wrong side of the law. Charlie collects debts for his uncle Giovanni and is madly in love with Johnny's sister Teresa, but his sense of Catholic guilt prevents him from acting on this desire. Instead, Charlie keeps watch over Johnny, who seems determined to self-destruct.
