In 1610, the market town of Boom braces itself for the arrival of Spanish troops. The cowardly mayor panics and fakes his own death while the rest of the men folk go into hiding, hoping the invaders will simply pass through. Meanwhile, the mayor’s conniving wife concocts an ingenious plan of her own. She gathers together all of the women and encourages them to ply their feminine wiles to divert the Spaniards’ attentions from rape and pillage.
