Filmmaker Daniel Edelstyn discovers the diaries of his grandmother Maroussia Zorokovich in the loft of his family home and he is surprised to learn about her past, growing up in a privileged Jewish family in the Ukraine. Determined to learn more, Edelstein travels to the village of Dubouviazovka with his camera, where he discovers a vodka distillery that was once owned by his ancestors. Without any practical experience, Edelstein decides to revive the village’s prospects by rebranding the vodka.
