Peter McCallister and his wife Kate hurriedly prepare for a Christmas break in Paris with their extended family. A power cut causes the clan to oversleep and in the McCallisters’ haste to get to the airport on time, they forget eight-year-old son Kevin, who is asleep in the attic. When the mischievous tyke realises he is home alone, he takes full advantage. Kevin is blissfully unaware that burglars Harry and Marv intend to rob the McCallisters’ house while the family is away in France.
