Benjamin is a medical student, who feels certain that he is destined to become a great doctor like his domineering father, Barois. To prove his worth and future greatness, Benjamin begins a six-month internship on the ward run by his father. As a result of Benjamin’s incompetence, a patient needlessly dies on the ward and Barois covers up his boy’s failings in order to avoid an expensive lawsuit. Other staff accept the subterfuge except for immigrant Algerian physician Abdel.
