In 1982, young historical researcher Anne inherits letters penned by her great aunt Olivia, which detail an intriguing personal history. Anne becomes obsessed with unearthing the truth by interviewing her great aunt’s friends. She travels to India to follow the evidence, turning back the clock to 1932 when Anne and her husband Douglas became entangled with the Nawab of Khatm during the British Raj.
