Hale County This Morning, This Evening (Subtitled)

Filmed over the course of five years, this lyrical and impressionistic documentary paints a vivid portrait of the people of Hale County, Alabama, exploring day-to-day life in Black America through everyday scenes of basketball practice, church prayer, family gathering and community strife. Two residents, Daniel Collins and Quincy Bryant, allow cameras intimate access to their homes and work, challenging prevailing stereotypes as they attend college and become a father.
