Ten-year-old twins Elias and Lukas live with their mother in an isolated lakeside house. They return home after the matriarch undergoes cosmetic facial surgery, swathed in bandages. She demands that the boys keep the blinds closed during daylight hours and only play outside while she recuperates. Quickly, Elias and Lukas notice that their mother is exhibiting strange behaviour. The tykes come to the shocking conclusion that the woman in their home isn’t their mother but an impostor.
