Glyndebourne Live: Cinderella

Fiona Dunn directs a revival of Fiona Shaw’s acclaimed touring production of Massenet’s swooning fairy-tale opera, which is broadcast live from Glyndebourne’s resplendent opera house in East Sussex under the baton of conductor John Wilson. Drawing on Charles Perrault’s original story, Cinderella focuses on the thankless day-to-day existence of sweet-natured servant Cendrillon. She is at the mercy of cruel stepmother Madame de la Haltiere and two stepsisters, Noemie and Dorothee.
