During years of conflict in Aleppo, which pits the Syrian government controlled by President Bashar al-Assad against various opposition forces, Waad al-Kateab captures life on the ground with her camera. Her footage chronicles emotional milestones including falling in love, getting married and giving birth to her daughter Sama. Blessed with new life in her arms, Waad suddenly faces an agonising choice between leaving the city to protect little Sama or continuing the fight for freedom.
