Carola and her husband Omar hope to make a living by breeding horses but a prize stallion dies in mysterious circumstances and the couple are crippled with debt. Their woes intensify when young son David falls ill and a faith healer suggests the only way to save the boy is to transfer the diseased part of his soul into another body. Thankfully, David survives his brush with death but Carola maintains that the surly teenager in her home is not her boy.
