Paul-Andre is a shy and introverted fortysomething bachelor, who is desperately lonely. He comes to the startling conclusion that what he needs is a family. He meets single mother Violette, who is in danger of being evicted and losing custody of her two children. Her desperate plight provides Paul-Andre with the idea for an unusual business arrangement: he will repurchase her debts and in exchange, Violette and her children will become his surrogate family.
