Emboldened by the moral values passed down from his mother and the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagat Puran Singh dedicates himself to the homeless, sick and vulnerable people of Lahore and Amritsar. He establishes a home called Pingalwara, where he and fellow carers can offer temporary sanctuary to the abandoned and forgotten of society. He carries some of these distressed people from the streets on his own back and is far ahead of his time by advocating a greener way of life that uses less water and electricity.
