Spirited youngster Xan lives on a farm just outside of Johannesburg with his father Peter and mother Kristin. By chance, Xan and Peter stumble upon an orphaned cheetah cub and they decide to take care of the animal, christening the cub “Duma”, the Swahili name for cheetah. Duma quickly becomes a popular member of the family but Peter is painfully aware that the cat is a creature of the wild, and must one day return to the jungle.
