Channo lives in a small Punjabi village with her husband Jeet, who travels to Canada to find a job that will pay more money to support his family. He telephones home regularly to update Channo on his progress but after a month overseas, the calls from Jeet stop. The pregnant wife decides to travel to Canada to reunite with her husband. Childhood friend Taazi, who has always been in love with Channo, agrees to accompany her on this odyssey.
