Born to Tibetan refugees in India and raised in Dharamsala, Tenzin Tsetan Choklay was exposed to global culture at an early age thanks to his father, the New York-based and world renowned artist Tenzing Rigdol. Following the death of his parent, Choklay embarks on a remarkable and perilous quest: to secretly convey 20 tons of Tibetan soil to Dharamsala in order that thousands of Tibetans, currently living in exile, have the opportunity to set foot on their native soil.
