Maya and her sister Rosa are illegal aliens eking out a meagre existence as cleaners in a Los Angeles office block. The pay is a pittance and conditions are appalling, but the girls are unable to protest for fear of alerting the authorities to their illegal status. However, when Maya meets union representative Sam, she is energized with thoughts of revolution, and together the pair rally the troops and incite a demonstration to protest the low pay and lack of benefits for the workers.
