Documentary which follows the first year in the lives of four newborns from markedly different countries and cultures. The film travels to Namibia to meet baby Ponijao who lives in a hut surrounded by Mother Nature, then on to Mongolia where Bayarjargal aka Bayar lives with three young siblings in a traditional yurt. Heading slightly to the east to Japan, the cameras linger on Mari, who lives in a country full of technological wizardry, then onto baby Hattie in San Francisco.
