During the ’80s and early ’90s, Manchester was the heart of the UK’s music scene, nurturing bands like New Order (nee Joy Division) and Happy Mondays. 24 Hour Party People pays tribute to the city and its people, as seen through the eyes of Tony Wilson, the Granada TV presenter who formed the Factory Records label, and established the Hacienda, a mecca for clubbers from around the world.
