Instead, the director was more concerned about a mark on his hand while they were filming the scene for new movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The 34-year-old actress is quoted by the Daily Express as saying: “He could not care less about our kissing scene. When we would ask him about it, he was more interested in a new mark which had appeared on his hand and was worrying him.
“He even stopped shooting so he could go to the doctor and get it checked out. We all had to wait around for him to come back.”
Penelope also revealed the 72-year-old filmmaker wouldn’t even talk about the embrace when he came back on set.
She added: “On his return, I tried to discuss the scene with him again and he started complaining about the doctor who had said there was nothing wrong with him.”
The Vanilla Sky actress admitted she is bored with the attention the smooch between her and Scarlett is getting.
She said: “She and I have been asked that question a thousand times, and we are sorry that we don’t have any funny stories to tell you about it.”
