Dame Vivienne Westwood has chopped off her red locks as a wake up call to end climate change.

The fashion designer sported a newly-cropped hairdo when she joined a protest march against the sale of long standing housing co-operatives in Clapham yesterday (06.03.14).
Gone was her trademark flame-red hair, with the 72-year-old London icon instead showing off a close white crop.
A spokesperson for her label told MailOnline: “Vivienne cut her hair as we must all wake up to Climate Change. And secondly she wanted to cut the red out for a while and have it white- to show she’s proud of her age.”
Westwood first went public with her new look during her Paris Fashion Week show on Saturday (01.03.14), but it was partly hidden underneath a feather headdress.
This comes after the eco-warrior announced she had no plans to expand her business because she intends to focus on Greenpeace’s work to protect the Arctic as part of their Save the Arctic campaign.
She said: “I have decided not to expand any more. In fact I want to do the opposite, I am now more interested in quality rather than quantity … I am now trying to make my own business more efficient and self-sustaining.”
