The N-Dubz singer said the incident was the “most cringe” moment of her life, but denied the X-rated Rampant Rabbit aid was hers.
She told The Sun: “It was so embarrassing when it went off buzzing in my bag. I only bought it as a present for a mate, but the joke ended up on me.”
Tulisa has spent a month working on solo tracks in the US with The-Dream, staying in Miami and Los Angeles, where she was spotted with a friend in the Hustler sex shop in Hollywood, laughing at their erotic products.
However, the 23-year-old pop star – who split from her boyfriend and bandmate Fazer in January – didn’t find it as funny as she went through Miami airport to return to London on Sunday (04.03.12), when the vibrator went off on its own and started making her bag shake, which caught the attention of airport security.
She tweeted: “Most cringe moment of my life … checkin in ‘Mam ur suitcase is vibrating can u open ur case n turn what eva that is off’ just kill me. (sic)”
A number of her fans started to jump to conclusions about what the vibrating item was and appeared shocked that she would have a sex aid in her luggage.
In a tweet, Tulisa replied: “Some of the people on my time line r goin on like nuns … jeeeeez live a little. #boreoff (sic)”
