The reformed boy band – who are currently on a world tour – were forced to call in security when a drunken girl in her 20s tried to follow Mark Owen up to his room at London’s Chelsea Harbour hotel.

A source told the Daily Mirror: ‘Mark was chatting to her as he was outside having a cigarette and then he told her he was off to bed. She made a dash for the lift, looking crazed and refused to get out so he yelled for security.

‘In the end she was thrown out of the hotel and that was that.’

Mark and his fellow bandmates – Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange – had been drinking at the hotel bar following their sell-out concert at The O2 arena on Friday night (07.12.07) along with a group of female fans, including the girl.

The source added: ‘There were around a dozen fans in the bar and it was all good-natured. But it became more worrying when one girl tried to get upstairs into the boys’ rooms.

‘They called for security and had her thrown out. After a night on stage they can’t be doing with any stress at the hotel.’

The incident happened after Gary and Jason had gone to bed and they have upped security for the remainder of their tour.
