Ten thousand people turned out for the world premiere of The Chronicles of
Narnia: Prince Caspian last night (19.06.08).

The incredible event – held at London’s O2 arena – saw lead star Ben Barnes joined by many of his young co-stars, who were in a visibly excited mood, as they arrived on the red carpet.
Barnes, who plays the titular Prince Caspian, said: “This is the pinnacle, all our friends and family are here and despite all these screaming people I can guarantee I’m the most excited person here.
“I still find it difficult to watch myself on screen, it’s hard to suspend your disbelief enough to see a prince out of yourself when you’re me. But hopefully everybody else will see Prince Caspian and I think it’s a really exciting, engaging film.”
The premiere, the largest ever held in the UK, also featured Telemarine soldiers from the film duelling with swords and riding on horseback down the red carpet.
The massive crowd cheered loudly as the movie’s stars, including Liam Neeson, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell and Skandar Keynes as well as director Andrew Adamson were ferried to the arena, which is located near the River Thames, by a chartered boat.
Prince Caspian is the second instalment in the Chronicles of Narnia, following 2005’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which became a huge hit worldwide. Both films are adaptations from the series of books by British author C.S. Lewis.
Moseley, who plays the leading role of Peter Pevensie, said: “I feel that this film, has really gone the extra mile. Using the experience from the first film and the success of it means we had many more resources. They went above and beyond the first film.”
Other celebrities at the premiere included singer Annie Lennox and Little Britain comic David Walliams.
