The 27-year-old actress – who plays a character based on famous socialite Edie Sedgwick in I’m Not There – was ‘notably absent’ from the bash at New York’s Bowery Hotel on Tuesday (13.11.07), while her ‘scruffy’ looking former lover and co-star Heath partied the night away.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: ‘Michelle was notably absent from the party but Heath was there enjoying himself. Although he was looking a little dishevelled and very scruffy.’

Heath – who plays one of seven Bob Dylan personas in the movie – was joined at the glitzy party by his co-star Richard Gere and Julianne Moore.

Other guests included ‘Entourage’ star Adrian Grenier, model Agyness Deyn, actor Jason Bateman and director Ang Lee.

Heath, 28, and Michelle – who have a two-year-old daughter, Matilda – announced they were splitting in September.

The pair – who meet on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2004 – are said to have gone their separate ways after struggling to save their ‘rocky’ relationship for the sake of their child.
