MICHAEL JACKSON could release an album from beyond the grave, a recording of his final rehearsal for the This Is It series of shows at the O2.

“We have a live album in the can,” said concert promoters AEG, as reported by TheWrap website.

Some reports have calculated that AEG could lose up to £300M in the wake of the cancelled shows, but would expect to recoup a considerable proportion of that through a last-rehearsal album and video.

“I take great solace in the pride and confidence he exhibited in the rehearsals on Wednesday night,” said AEG boss Randy Phillips. “This is the memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

By all accounts the rehearsal was a full-on affair, complete with dancers, musicians and other performers, all recorded in high-definition video.

“We put together a complicated show, quite a spectacular show,” said Patrick Woodroffe, a lighting designer present at the rehearsal at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
