LONDON is to host a second memorial event for Michael Jackson, according to website showbiz411.

It is thought that the commemoration of Jackson’s life will follow a format similar to yesterday’s moving ceremony in Los Angeles, where stars including Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Mariah Carey paid their respects to the singer.

The London event is said to have been scheduled for the O2 on 29 August, which would have been the King of Pop’s 51st birthday.

As well as the memorial, there is still a fair chance the O2 host a series of tributes to Jackson based on the This Is It production.

“At some point the world needs to see this production and I would imagine it could be done as a tribute with the family, with the brothers performing, some sisters, and the stars that were influenced by him,” said Randy Phillips, boss of AEG, the promoters of the This Is It series.

“We are discussing with the family so the sooner, the better.”
