Sir Sean Connery’s new book is set to be outsold by the autobiography of fellow James Bond actor Roger Moore.

The star – whose book Being a Scot mentions very little about his time portraying the secret agent and focuses on his Scottish heritage – has sold just 5,000 copies so far.

Experts predict his sales figures will soon be overshadowed by the release of Moore’s My Word is My Bond.

A spokesman for publisher Michael O’Mara, which is publishing Moore’s tome, is “very confident” his client’s book will prove more successful than Connery’s.

Graham Rye, editor of James Bond magazine 007, claims Connery, 78, made a mistake by not writing an intimate biography, saying: “Roger Moore’s book will ultimately sell more than Sean’s because it is a more accessible read and is full of fun and amusing showbusiness anecdotes.”

Despite the poor figures, Connery’s spokesman insists he is “delighted” with the book’s reception.
