The singer treated fans at the concerts – which were part of his two-year 25 Live tour and were billed as the Final Two – at London’s Earls Court on Sunday (24.08.08) and Monday (25.08.08) to a greatest hits set and confessed it was an emotional experience.

He said: “It’s great to be home, I have to tell you.

“When we were last here I think we were probably on show 20 of this tour and I honestly thought it was going to be a three-month tour and here we are two years later. You are going to be the recipients of 103 shows’ experience.”

During the concerts, George played a mixture of old and new songs, including Fast Love, Too Funky, Faith and Freedom ‘90.

The singer also covered Nina Simone’s Feeling Good, which he revealed will be available as a free download on Christmas Day (25.12.08).

He added the cover version will be released “along with a new Christmas song that I wrote”, dispelling rumours he is set to retire completely from the music business.

George is due to play his last show, advertised as the Final One, in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Saturday (30.08.08).
