The Hollywood pair – both former Oscar-winners – were named in a star-studded list of those set to hand out prizes at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on February 24.

Clooney, who has received a Best Actor nomination for his role in Michael Clayton, will be joined by former winners including Denzel Washington, Renée Zellweger, and Tom Hanks in presenting awards.

John Travolta, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Colin Farrell and Jessica Alba will also hand out trophies.

Also on the presenter list is Australian actress Cate Blanchett, who is nominated for both Best Actress for Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Best Supporting Actress for her role in Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There.

Martin Scorsese, who won Best Director last year for The Departed, will also take to the stage to reward a lucky recipient.

As is traditional at the glitzy event, last year’s winners Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker and Alan Arkin will present the acting awards.

Amy Adams will perform Happy Working Song from her hit movie Enchanted, which is in the running for Best Song.

The announcement of the event’s schedule comes after the Hollywood writers’ strike was bought to an end earlier this week, quashing fears it would stop the ceremony from going ahead.
