Circus, the troubled singer’s first new material since her public breakdown earlier this year, is coming out on December 1 and will be preceded by the single Womanizer.

Sean Garrett, one of her collaborators on the album, recently promised the singer’s new material will “raise eyebrows”.

He said: “You always want to give Britney something she can feel intrigued by, because she’s done so much. She’s had some incredible albums.

“She’s been through so much, so you want to do things that will raise her eyebrows as well as her fans’, so we’re going to work really hard to give her something exceptionally special. This time, we’re going to try some different sounds. We’re really trying to push the sound limits. We’re definitely going to make sure it’s hot, you know, great songs that fans will go crazy over.”

The record was originally due for release next year, but bosses have brought it forward following Britney’s triple triumph at the MTV Video Music Awards.

A source said: “Blackout was released in the middle of Britney’s meltdown and carried negative associations.

“It did OK but wasn’t as big as her previous releases. Label chiefs vowed her private life would never be allowed to overshadow her career again.

“However, they’ve been astonished by how well she’s managed to piece her life back together.”

Britney scooped Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for Piece of Me at the MTV VMAs earlier this month.
