Western Movies

For some, westerns are the zenith of film art – all that wild, wide open space, the one-horse towns that look like movie sets, John Wayne and Natalie Wood in The Searchers – while for others they’re clichéd stories covered in dust. Sometimes they feel laughably old fashioned. Then, like with the recent remake of True Grit, and like all good western heroes, they reach for the gun and make a triumphant come back.
