What you’re looking for in a good drama is some emotional involvement with the characters, preferably with some great cinematography to help set the mood. The mood for tears, obviously, as our hero/heroine gets the girl/guy, or dies a noble death. Better still, oceans of tears, as in the best-at-the-box-office-movie of all time: Titanic. Watch out for the emotional ice-berg in the shape of the filmgoer next to you who thinks you’re overdoing the waterworks.
