Available to own on DVD and Blu-ray from 19th SEPTEMBER 2011
With an all star cast including Ed Helms (The Office US, Hangover 2), Sigourney Weaver (Avatar, Paul), Anne Heche (Hung, Nip/Tuck) and John C Riley (Cyrus, Tenacious D), Cedar rapids is an endearing and hilarious dry comedy full of truly uproarious scenes, memorable characters and sharp one-liners. Having premiered at the Sundance 2011 Film Festival to critical acclaim, Cedar rapids will be available to own from 19th September 2011 on DVD and Blu-ray.
Worldly innocent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms) is an insurance salesman, in a tiny firm, situated in the even tinier Wisconsin town of Brown Valley which he has never left his entire life. So cocooned Tim is with his surroundings, the only womanly interest in his life is Macy Vanderhei (Sigourney Weaver) who conveniently happens to be his 7th grade teacher.
When his firm’s top salesman suddenly dies on the eve of the annual insurance convention, Tim is packed off to represent his company at the Cedar Rapid event. Having never been on a plane or hired a car before, the unbelievably naive Tim arrives like a fish-out-of-water at the convention ready to put his best foot forward.
However, his comfort bubble is soon popped when he learns that he will be sharing a room with rival insurance salesman Dean (John C Reilly), one of the most dishonourable and hard-partying convention veterans whom he has been advised to avoid at all costs. Accompanied by fellow conventioneers’ Ron (Isiah Whitlock Jr) and the married but free spirited Joan (Anne Heche), Tim’s downward spiral to moral deviation begins and he soon realises this convention will be anything but conventional…
