The battle between Professor Xavier and Magneto reaches a crescendo when scientists supposedly discover a cure for mutancy. Suddenly, the outcasts have the chance to become 'normal' - to relinquish their special powers and to live amongst the general populace for the first time in years. Xavier and his pupils, including Wolverine, Storm, Rogue and Iceman, find themselves on the opposite side of the debate to Magneto and his disciples, including Mystique, Pyro and Juggernaut. Violence seems to be the only means of communication.
