Avid skateboarder Bing Liu is compelled to pick up a film camera in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois to make sense of the number of his peers, who ran away from home when they were young. The Rust Belt town has been hit hard by decades of recession and Liu captures changes in fortunes over the course of 12 years. He follows two other residents 17-year-old Keire and 23-year-old Zack as they secure a first job and become a father respectively.
