Los Angeles street dancer DJ witnesses the murder of his brother and is sent to Atlanta to live with his uncle, who enrols him at the prestigious Truth University. DJ’s fancy footwork catches the eye of the Theta Nu Theta fraternity, which has consistently lost the national stepping championships against the Mu Gamma Xi house. So DJ agrees to help the underdogs emerge victorious, clashing with rival dancer Grant, whose girlfriend April catches DJ’s eye.
