High school student Nick is the bass guitarist and the only straight member of queercore band The Jerk Offs comprising best friends Dev and Thom. He’s still madly in love with his ex, Tris, spending hours making her mix tapes which she just throws in the nearest bin… where sassy rich girl and music fan Norah picks them up. During a long and eventful night when Nick and Norah both find themselves hunting for the location of a secret gig of their favourite band, Where’s Fluffy?, Tris finally realises how much she wants Nick back and Dev and Thom unexpectedly find themselves babysitting Norah’s drunk and deranged pal, Caroline.
