Sid Sharma is an architect in Los Angeles whose personal and professional fortunes are in freefall. Out of the blue, Sid’s estranged father Ashok turns up at his front door. The Boston academic claims he is in Los Angeles to attend a conference and he hopes to rebuild bridges with Sid during his time in the city. It transpires that the patriarch has an ulterior motive for visiting: he hopes to be reunited with old flame Helen, who is married but still carries a torch for Ashok.
