Former swimming champion Adam is sixty-something but still fit and he works as a pool attendant at the N’Djamena hotel resort alongside his 20-year-old son Abdel. When new Chinese owners take over the complex, Adam is rudely sidelined to a menial post, leaving Abdel to take care of the pool and the guests. However, the spectre of civil war looms over the country and the authorities ask the citizens to donate everything they can to fuel the rebel effort.
