Gung-ho former Main Force Patrol officer Max Rockatansky roams the wasteland in his supercharged black police car, accompanied by his trusty dog. Following a clash with one crazed gang, Max joins forces with the Gyro Captain to hunt for fuel at a nearby oil refinery. They discover the facility under attack from a gang led by The Humungus. Max intervenes but his courage is overlooked by violent facility leader Pappagallo, who intends to kill the former law man.
