The Shard Info

Visitors to The Shard will be whisked upwards via high speed lifts to the public viewing gallery dubbed The View From The Shard.

The Shard is the tallest building in the EU, standing at 310 metres (1,016 feet). The observation gallery will be more than twice the highest point achieved by capsules on the London Eye, whose structure stands at a mere 135 metres (443 feet) at its peak.

Set to become one of London’s must-see attractions, The View From The Shard will afford guests a vista across the capital stretching up to 40 miles to the horizon. The Shard’s architect Renzo Piano designed the tower to be a ‘virtual town’ with residential, entertainment and office space living side by side and floor by floor.

Guests will climb by via high speed lifts to level 68 of The Shard. From there they ascend to ‘The View’ on level 69 – a stunning triple-height level draped in light and revealing the full majesty of London – past, present and future – below. The 360 degree view stretches out 40 miles across north, west, east and south London.

Then it’s on up to level 72 where guests get to experience an encounter with the elements at 1,000 feet above the capital’s cityscape. This level is part exposed through the upper reaches of the shards of glass that form the pinnacle of this awe-inspiring new London landmark. Look up and see the shards reach up to the sky above.

Adrenalin and curiosity sapped, guests exit via a boutique on level 68 where they can browse the gifts on offer and purchase a souvenir photograph.
