A HEATHROW-bound jet was once buzzed by a UFO, according to newly released government ‘X-files’.

Flying a McDonnell Douglas MD8 over Kent en-route from Milan to London on 21 April, 1991, pilot Achille Zaghetti spotted an unidentified object some 300m above and cried, “Look out! Look out!” to his co-pilot.

Zaghetti asked air traffic control what was going on and was told that there was “an unknown target 10 nautical miles behind you.”

Subsequent investigations by the Ministry of Defence failed to positively identify the strange object and the case was closed, though similar sightings occurred in the same area in the following six months.

Other X-Files just released include a 1957 incident in which US fighter pilot Milton Torre was ordered to shoot down a UFO, also flying over Kent, which then disappeared before the mission could be completed. Kent is the epicentre of UFO-sightings in this country as LondonNet reported eight years ago.

These are the second batch of UFO-files released by the government this year. The first contained some featuring strange goings-on over London.
