Piers Morgan eyes Britain's Got Talent exit

PIERS MORGAN'S looming deal to join CNN means he is likely to leave Britain's Got Talent.

"Piers knows that taking over the Larry King Show means something will have to give," a source is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying.

The expectation is that Morgan will kick Britain's Got Talent into touch, but continue with his similar panellist role on America’s Got Talent.

Rumours have done the rounds since the weekend that the former editor of The Mirror would replace the 76-year-old King and now they have been firmed up by the news that Morgan is in New York for talks.

"CNN bosses have been desperately searching for somebody to revamp the show," said the source.

"Piers is just the chap."

However, an alternative take on Morgan's New York trip is that CNN want him not to take over from King, but for a different slot.

"We are currently looking at replacing our 8pm programme and that is our priority," said a spokesperson.
