Shake, Rattle and Bowl is back this Saturday night (17th January 2009) with another party at the brilliant Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes! Taking over both rooms of this legendary venue with a celebration of 1950’s Rock N Roll, Northern Soul, Motown, Garage Rock, Beat and Ska, Shake, Rattle & Bowl has quickly risen to become London’s biggest and best retro clubnight since launching in November 2006.

Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes is one of those venues that everyone adores, as they have two large dancefloors with decent soundsystems, 13 authentic retro bowling lanes, private karaoke booths, a yummy award winning retro American diner, and even a cool little cinema screening films for free (this week we’re having an Elvis evening).

Doors open at 7.oopm and entry is just £7. For those of you who wanted to book bowling, this is only bookable on the night on a first come first served basis from 7.30pm. So, for those of you that wanted to bowl, it’s best to get down early to secure this. All drinks sold at The Lanes are below typical club prices, and the diner serves food until midnight. Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes is well positioned for transport home being just a short walk from nearby Holborn, whilst being enough off the beaten track to feel like a well kept secret! For those of you who want to smoke, there is a lovely big smoking courtyard behind the main dancefloor.

In the main room, the super talented Barbarella will warm things up and gets you all dancing with an excellent mix of uptempo Ska, scuzzy Garage Rock and Pyschedelic Grooves before ace dj duo The Dirty DeeTee’s take over with everything from Rock N Roll to Motown, Girl Groups and Northern Soul. Dress to dance!
