Speak No Evil (15)

During a European holiday, Ben Dalton, wife Louise and their daughter Agnes meet English doctor Patrick Feld, his wife Ciara and their young son Ant, who cannot speak. The two families bond and the Felds invite the Daltons to join visit them on their rambling country estate in the West Country. The Daltons accept but the mood subsequently darkens and Ben, Louise and Agnes grow concerned about their hosts’ unsettling behaviour.

In 1977, 70-year-old American photographer Lee Miller sits across from an interviewer in her East Sussex home to reminisce about her extraordinary career. With the support of British Vogue’s editor Audrey Withers, Lee heads to the front line to document the Second World War but she meets fierce resistance from military command. Colonel Spencer eventually relents and Lee glimpses the conflict through a lens in the company of Life magazine’s correspondent David Scherman.

Seventy-year-old widow Mahin lives alone in Tehran, reluctantly accepting the limitations on rights and freedoms of women in her country decades after the loss of her husband. On her way home, she intervenes in a dispute between a woman and the morality police and subsequently meets taxi driver Esmail. Like her, he is desperately lonely and craving connection so Mahin invites the stranger to her home for an evening that neither of them will forget.
