Lindsey Strutt – who is fronting the Nuts Makes Darts Sexy campaign – believes she is more than a match for the monarch, who was revealed as avid fan of the sport earlier this week.

Lindsey – who received special training from darts legend Eric Bristow at the Nuts Darts Academy yesterday (13.12.07) – said: “We have learnt so much from Eric, the Nuts Darts Academy has made a huge difference to my game. In fact, I’m sure I’m more than a match for the queen and I’m ready to throw some arrows with her.”

Eric explained he wasn’t surprised to hear the queen was a darts enthusiast. He said: “It is a sport for all – both young and old, rich and poor. It’s very inclusive. Anyone can pick up the darts and have a go.”

Earlier this week, darts champion Phil Taylor revealed the queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips had told him the queen liked to follow the game on TV, when they met at the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year event on Sunday (09.12.07).

He said: “She watches the darts, the queen, apparently. Zara said so! She also told me the Queen Mother loved watching darts on TV.”
