One year on from Newman’s death, this exhibition charts his myriad of career paths, from film acting and directing to political activism, philanthropy to professional car racing. Newman found fame in films such as Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, and The Verdict, eventually receiving ten Academy Award nominations and one win over five decades. Alongside his movie work, he also won several national championships as a driver in Sports Car Club of America, and cofounded Newman’s Own, a food company dedicated to donating all post-tax profits to charity.

This layered life is remembered through the personal photographs of Leo Fuchs. Fuchs was afforded a privileged level of access to many of the most prominent Hollywood figures of his generation, and this collection of Paul Newman images are amongst his most intimate. We see Newman relaxing on a movie set, taking in tourist sites, and handstand-diving into a luxury swimming pool.

Remembering Paul Newman provides an exclusive view of the private life of this great actor, sportsman and philanthropist, providing an exciting glimpse at the man behind the legendary blue eyes.
