It seems that most everyone but Iggy Pop had a good time at Clapham Common this August Bank Holiday weekend. Poor Iggy seriously injured his leg after losing a battle with his speaker stack during his headline show at Get Loaded in the Park.
Besides Iggy & The Stooges, the festival's fifth year boasted the likes of Supergrass, The Hives, Gossip and Wiley. The otherwise misbehaving summer weather even held off the forecasted rain for North London's own The Holloways. Get Loaded competed noticeably well with Notting Hill Carnival, keeping plenty of revellers south of the river this bank holiday Sunday.
As for Kate Nash, who also performed in Clapham, it might have been better to be dancing to calypso tunes with Chelsea Davy. After coming on a half-hour late (perhaps ignoring the surges of booing), the indie darling sang a handful of tunes with dancing skeletons with afros (literally) before retiring for the evening. Thanks for the Foundations performance, Kate, but watch the clock next time.
