LONDON has been turned into a vegetable garden by photographer Carl Warner, who dipped into his grocery bag to come up with a truly organic version of some of our city’s most famous sights.

Warner re-made the Houses of Parliament using a mix of asparagus, green and runner beans plus baby sweet corn, while nearby Big Ben stands tall on slices of citrus fruit and Nelson surveys the scene from a column cobbled together out of a cucumber, baby courgettes and a carrot.

Carrots came in handy when re-constructing St Paul’s Cathedral, too, which also found good use for courgettes and leeks.

Surprisingly the Swiss Re Tower AKA The Gherkin, wasn’t made out of a gherkin at all, but instead was built from melon pieces and green beans.

“This stunning image has quite literally transformed the London skyline with good food,” said Roopa Gulati of the Good Food Channel, which commissioned the project.

“It proves that fun with food in a creative and light-hearted way is the way forward.”
